Interview with Rashida and her family

Someone at TWoP posted this incredible interview with Rashida Jones, her sister Kidada and her parents. It's not new, but it is a really wonderful and honest interview in which they talk about growing up multiracial.

January 18th Episode Title: "Oscar's Return"

I think that says it all! YAY! No summary yet. Thanks, OT!

More Office Love

EW's The Year in Sound Bites has named two Office quotes among voters' 46 favorite quips:

MAY

"I never smile if I can help it. Showing one's teeth is a submission signal in primates. When someone smiles at me, all I see is a chimpanzee begging for its life."
DWIGHT (RAINN WILSON), ON THE OFFICE

NOVEMBER

"I always knew the branch would shut down some day; I just figured it would be because Michael sold the building for some magic beans."
JIM (JOHN KRASINSKI), AFTER HEARING THAT THE SCRANTON BUREAU WAS CLOSING, ON THE OFFICE

Thanks to the LJ Office community for the tip!

Coming Soon...a TALKING Michael Scott Bobblehead!

And what's even cooler about that? You can go over to Office Tally and cast your comment about what you think the talking bobblehead should say! Yes, NBC asked Office Tally to find out what fans would like the bobblehead to say.

It's cool that NBC seems to be listening to what sort of merchandise the fans most want. I can only assume that a Jim Halpert body pillow is going to be offered very soon.

What Would Baby Jesus Do?

Another #2...this time, on iTunes

"The Office" tops iTunes list of Best-Selling TV shows that are currently running. It's second only to "Lost," but it's second to none in our hearts.

OMG Sixth Deleted Scene

Give Shakespeare some credit, yo.

Unaccompanied Minors

Okay, I just had to post to say that we saw this movie last weekend and Mindy and B.J. are really cute! Mindy is a bit anti-Kelly, which I like to see; B.J. is like Ryan working at the airport. But that's funny, too!

PopCandy's 100 People of the Year

Whitney Matheson over at PopCandy lists her 100 People of the Year at this time every year, and this year's list includes Rainn Wilson and Steve Carell, at #17 and #4 respectively. Quotage:

17. Rainn Wilson. What would we have done without The Office's Dwight Schrute? No secret Dwangela relationship, no visit to the beet farm, no superhuman feats of waffle-eating ... It's strange how there's no other character like him, but he reminds us all of someone we know.
4. Steve Carell. With the success of The Office and Oscar buzz for Little Miss Sunshine, Steve is certainly flying high right now. He made me laugh and cringe throughout the year -- and I can't help but have a strange little crush on the man.
Also, Whitney did a phone interview with Rainn. (MINOR SPOILERS)

Deleted Scene #1 from "Benihana Christmas"

Toby and Angela fighting!

Studies show straight women like Jim Halpert

A new article from the Chicago Sun-Times about TV's unrequited romances.

Also, from the article:

"Women fantasize most about Jim (John Krasinski) and Booth (David Boreanaz)."

Really. Women fantasize about Jim (John Krasinski). You don't say.

Who loves Thursday, I love Thursday

SPOILERISH article on tonight's episode from the Boston Herald

SPOILERISH interview with David Denman from TV Guide

New blogs from Jenna, Angela, Brian, and Kate.

Best thing ever:

Golden Globes!

Well, predictably (but wonderfully!), "The Office" and Steve Carell were nominated for Golden Globes for best comedy and best comedy actor.

HOWEVER, the word on the street is that Jenna, John, and Rainn ALL were snubbed. WAHHH.

I've heard it said that the Golden Globes are basically a joke (though great for stalking!). If that's the case, they're a joke with a laaaaame sense of humor, because COME ON.

Hollaaaa

Our darlings were nominated for all sorts of 2007 Writers Guild Awards! Including Steve Carell for "Casino Night"!!

Office Tally has all the details you could ever need!

January 4 Episode Title & Description

["Back From Vacation" - Michael returns from his Jamaican vacation a relaxed and revitalized man, but that quickly changes when a spicy vacation photograph makes its way around the office. Meanwhile, Jim and Karen have an argument — with Pam caught in the middle of it all.]

Thanks, OT!

Check out all its majesty

Holiday Office e-cards from NBC!

Also, this is amazing and hilarious

From the LJ community.

Has a promo picture from the Christmas episode, but it's really not all that spoilerish at all. Just an hilarious observation.

Principle shooting starts on Brief Interviews

So says variety.

Seriously, when does that man sleep?!

Also, should the question ever arise of how to make a film that is adapted and directed by John Krasinski and adapted from a truly awesome book EVEN BETTER, the answer is to cast my musical boyfriend in it. Hi, Ben Gibbard.

Suffice to say, this is working for me so far.

Tuesday, December 12, 2006

Another deleted scene!

This time with Ryan and Kelly!

Awesome new promo picture for "Benihana Christmas"

Hi-res here.

But does anyone else see the thing in this picture that absolutely breaks my little heart? BREAKS MY HEART?!

Here's a hint: upper left corner. WAAHHHH!

Ed Helms, if you think you're going anywhere, you're insane

BFFs, Part Two

Jenna has said on her blog about how she wanted to meet cartoonist Joe Matt. Well, she did. And he wrote up the most adorable account of his dinner with Jenna and James that makes me just want to hug all three of them.

BFFs 4EVA

New Jenna Fischer article from ALIVE magazine.

She's asked a bunch of the same questions she's been asked a million times, but somehow her answers never get old.

If I ran "The Office"

GMMR has the transcript up of the mini-article from Entertainment Weekly that discusses what it would be like If Lost and The Office switched places.

I put him in the quadrant of LOVE

A completely random blurb from EW's pop-watch about New York Magazine's approval matrix and how John Krasinski defies the the formulas necessary for graphing something that is completely subjective.

I know where John Krasinski goes in MY matrix.

Good times were had by all

Here we have Ed Helms and his bluegrass band, The Lonesome Trio performing "My Heart Will Go On." It's no "Ainbow-ray Onnection-cay, but it's pretty funny.

For our other Stamford friend, here's a post over at Comedy Central about the "Karen Conundrum" (KAREN CANANDRAHMS). Rashida Jones, apparently, is good at playing characters named Karen. She's also good at being awesome. \m/CALLOFDUTY!\m/

Except, the guy talks about what she can do when she leaves "The Office."

Memo

From: Melody

To: Uninformed Mr. Man

RE: Rashida Jones

Jim and Pam being together and Karen being on the show are not mutually exclusive. Rashida Jones is going nowhere.

Deleted Scene #6 from "The Convict" - the one we've been hearing about

I think this is the one that Angela mentioned on her blog - it's hysterical!

Scranton's Weatherman

Here's a brief article that was posted over at TWoP which talks about the local Scranton weatherman who felt his 15 minutes of fame when he was (blurrily) shown in last week's episode.

Yet another reason why "The Office" is the Best. Show. On. TV. Of COURSE they would specifically get a video that shows a map of Scranton for a tiny and completely blurred video!

Team Rashida

Video of Rashida Jones on Conan last night is here!
ETA by Sarah: Now on Myspace:Rashida Jones on Conan

There is a short clip from the Christmas episode, so beware of that if you want to avoid it. Rashida is funny and awesome and is also not allowed to leave "The Office." I've gotten attached to Karen and Andy! They can't leave NOW!

Deleted Scene #5 from "The Convict"

More Dwight paranoia

Also, she's awesome

Jenna Fischer was at the breakfast yesterday morning for The Hollywood Reporter's Power 100 Women.

Powerful, funny, pretty, talented, generally awesome, on the best show on television, has a cute and funny husband, AND gets to KISS JOHN KRASINSKI ON THE MOUTH.

I'm only guessing, but I'd say it's good to be Jenna Fischer.

Tuesday, December 05, 2006

Deleted Scene #4 from "The Convict"

Oooh, Dwight, I'm so scared!

It's true, I have no clue what John Krasinski's favorite color is

This interview with John Krasinski is relatively old (before Casino Night aired), but it is excellent. Someone posted a link to it over at the TWoP forums, and I re-read it and was struck by how excellently John talks about the show and his character.

Giving "The Office" - And Its Fans - Their Due

The Chicago Tribune's TV blogger gave out "Watchie" awards for the year's best in television. "The Office" was mentioned for Best Award Acceptance Speech for Steve Carell's Golden Globe acceptance speech, Best Kiss, Best Online Presence, and Best Fan Campaign:

"“Office” creator Greg Daniels used an interview in the Tribune to plead for a supersize Season 2 finale. Within hours of that interview, “Office” aficionados from the fan sites OfficeTally.com, NorthernAttack.com and GiveMeMyRemote.com had set up supersizedoffice.com -- and the thousands of pleas on the site worked - “The Office” got a supersize finale. Well done, fans!"

Deleted Scene #3 from "The Convict"

Dwight's always been the cool one in his family

Jenna Fischer and Tina Fey

Interviewed and interviewing each other in this week's TV Guide.

(They rock.)

Yeah, but it's quickly becoming a love pentagon...

TV Triangles Keep Things Tense

Here's an article about TV love triangles, featuring the current formation of Jim-Pam-Karen. (But really it's Jim-Pam-Karen-Roy-Toby-Half of the World (Who Is In Love With Jim).)

Zap2It.com's TV Gal pick her favorite TV current characters

Our boy is at #3 on her list of celebrating when "great writing fuses with a brilliant performance to form a perfect television character."

3. John Krasinski as Jim Halpert on "The Office": With so many fabulous characters, it's hard to pick just one employee of Dunder Mifflin. Especially since this past year really brought many of the background characters to the forefront and introduced some great new office mates. With his deadpan looks and impish grin, Krasinski could go an entire episode without a line of dialogue and we would know exactly what he was thinking.

The Paper Chase

Here's a great article from The New Yorker about the genre of office-related entertainment. The vast majority of the article focuses on the British and the American "Office."

Ed Helms Love Week Continues

The Best of Andy Bernard, found on YouTube

Ed Helms on Conan now on YouTube

Hysterical stuff featuring baton twirling and Yanni karaoke.

Thanks, OT!

That's how close I sit, too.

Over at the livejournal community, I came across this comic. Look at what he's watching!!

Ainbow-ray Onnection-cay

Most adorable scene ever is now up on youtube!

If I ever meet a man that I love as much as this television show, I will marry him on the spot.

Someday we'll find it, the fandom connection!
Sarah's blog for "The Convict"

[note to any new readers: my episode blogs are meant to be read as you're watching the show. It's like MST3K, only in print.]

So, Hannah, I suppose the baby told you pink was his favorite color, right? Uh-huh.

And why did Hannah bring her baby to work?

Fashion alert: Michael is wearing a white shirt with gray stripes, and a blue and brown checked tie. I know I'm not a fashionista, but doesn't anybody else see anything wrong with that?!

Hey, look, Fancy New Beesley is still rockin' the new 'do!

Don't trust Jim when he says "absolutely". *grin*

Gee, Dwight, we never would have guessed that you don't like criminals, since you were a Volunteer Sheriff's Deputy and all.

Frolf?

How could Michael announce to the whole office that Martin is an ex-con?! I would have quit right then if I were Martin.

"Jonas Salk."
"Who?"
"Justin Timberlake."
*gigglesnort*

Martin doesn't have to tell the officemates why he was in prison? Well, Michael, you shouldn't have told the office he was in prison, but that didn't stop you, did it?

"It sounds an awful lot like what I do everyday." Uh, Kev, just a bit of advice: you might not want to say something like that on camera, 'kay?

Outdoors time? Back in the day it was called 'recess'.

"Wow." Pam has the same expression on her face and tone of voice she did during The Yogurt Confessions in Season One (was it the pilot?). Except this time, Pam is onto Jim, not the other way around.

Oh, yay! Work is going to be more like prison! *Snoopy dance*

"You, my friend, would be da belle of da ball." I bet Ryan's having Dundies nightmares flashbacks right about now.

DEMENTORS! And the elves all scream! "No, not like in Hawwy Pawter."

"They're teasing you." Aww! I never thought we'd see Michael and Toby have "a moment".

Happy trails, Martin, we hardly knew ye. But you seemed like a nice guy.

And then there were three.

Ed Helms rocks! Has he sung something in every episode this season? I can't wait to see the gag reel for this episode.

When fandoms collide...

...it's a beautiful thing!

Thanks, OfficeTally!

Late-breaking news!

Ed Helms is going to be on Conan tonight. Good times. I hope it's an Office-focused interview. And I hope that they show the Ainbow-ray Onnection-cay clip from last night, because it's the best thing ever and I will never get tired of watching it.

Are Andy and Karen really going to leave? I don't want them to leave! I feel very attached to them!!! Screw short term contracts!!

Entertainment Weekly

Review of "The Convict" is up.

I have to agree with the reviewer, the end with the "Ainbow-ray Onnection-cay" and Pam's joy because Jim was pranking her and Jim's delight with a prank done well was one of my most favorite things ever.

And let's think about this. Jim knows what Pam likes and doesn't like. She doesn't like all of the things that Andy was doing. She likes pranks, which is what Jim was doing. HMMMMMM. Yeah, Karen, I like you and all, but you don't stand a chance, sweetie.

That is certainly one way to get me excited

My local newspaper, The Courier-Journal publishes every day a little column with celebrity goings-on. At the bottom of the column, there is a random quote from a celebrity.

Today's was...

wait for it...

Oh yes, a man named John Krasinski. I don't know if you've heard of him, but...he is an okay guy.

Anyway, there is a quote from a People Magazine subscribers-only thing about one of his favorite books:

"The (novel's) idea that at the end of the day, what will get you through any sort of prejudice is to rise above it."
- 'The Office' actor John Krasinski, 27, on why
To Kill A Mockingbird changed his life, to People

Men who have their life changed by amazing and great books are SO SEXY.

Deleted Scenes Start Arriving from "The Convict"

Deleted Scenes

And the two-minute replay is worth a look, cuz it's got part of Andy's song AND JIM'S SMILE

The awesome lovely Jenna Fischer

Being interviewed at a St. Louis NBC affiliate.

Yay for the poster on the LJ community who linked to this!

I just love Jenna. And I realize that maybe she wants to be finished with "The Office" before she starts a family, but oh my goodness, how cute are little Jenna and James babies going to be? SO CUTE.

Seriously, this is a great interview. I highly recommend watching the two-part full interview up at the top of the page. Jenna is awesome.
